About

I am Emma Enderby a curator, writer, and lecturer of modern and contemporary art.

I am currently the Head of Programmes and Research, Chief Curator at Haus der Kunst, Munich. Research topics include the intersection of art and ecology, technology, reconsidering historical (and canonical) narratives, interdisciplinary approaches, art in the public realm, and approaches to civic engagement.

Formerly I was the founding Chief Curator at The Shed for over 5 years, where I worked to build and help define the institution, as well as the interdisciplinary programme.   Previously I worked as a curator for the Public Art Fund, NY and the Serpentine Galleries, London. I also worked in exhibitions at the Royal Academy of Arts and the Whitechapel Gallery, as well as in Public Programs and Education at The National Portrait Gallery, London, and the Museum of Modern Art, NY. I’ve had the privilege to be a visiting lecturer, critic, and speaker at a number of universities and institutions, as well as edited and written for various books and catalogues. I hold degrees from University College London and Oxford University.
